Since our band flat out rocks, the next practice is canceled and then I won’t be there for the next one because I’ll be in SIX FLAGS!!!(for the first time!) and then there isn’t a practice on the first day of school. So basically, no band practice for 2 weeks. Pretty sweet, huh? But some of the color guard girls were thinking about going cliff-jumping to replace the canceled practice over at Carl Cowan Park. It sounds like a lot of fun, and they sure seem to think so.
…I’m a little curious at what my mom will think of this when I ask to go along. ^-^
The curious sound of the rain pitter-pattering upon the ground is interestingly marvelous. But sadly, it is not raining.

There are no cliffs at Carl Cowan. Any rocks high enough to be considered “cliffs” would put you in 3 foot deep water. You would break bones and possibly drown.
If you want cliff diving you have to go into the mountains, Big South Fork, or possibly the Norris area. Norris and Big South would be cleaner waters than Lake Loudon.
If you want to try cliff diving, I can help you do it safely. Hidden rocks, currents, downed trees and unseen obstacles in water make cliff diving very dangerous to people who do not take proper precautions or take the time to inspect the water.
I love extreme sports. I have never been hurt at extreme sports because I adhere to safety precautions, proper equipment, and acknowledging that I do not know it all and asking for help is a good thing.
